Well I've finally gotten caught up my complete year of EyesOnUDetroit Magazine uploads; ending in July2018 up to the month of September 2018. Let's say it wasn't easy for me to keep dedicated to this project. And that was somewhat a big reason for the delay. The question I've asked myself is, "How do I find time for all my ongoing independent projects when I feel like my feet are stuck in clay?

40 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."
Clay, why clay you might ask. Well, I'm getting no where fast in making progress in my life after cancer. I take a few steps forward and I feel weighted down and fatigued. Oh, yeah fatigue can be a downer and it is only one of the constant reminders of the effects of chemo- radiation on my body and DNA. I also have, among a list of physical challenges, hearing loss and long term chemo-brain.I don't claim them, but got to keep it real as my current situation.
Keeping it Real
To be frank, my cancer treatments have left me classified as permanently disabled and because of that I am living financially challenged. This as well, as my age, which falls somewhere on the chart between middle age and elderly, should put me in a pretty desolate place emotionally, right? And after reading that, you may wonder why am I smiling so brightly in most of my photographs. As the song lyrics go, "If there's a smile on my face, it's only there trying to fool the public, but when it comes down to fooling you, well, that's quite a different subject." And who would that someone be who I am not fooling? Well, God of course!
God is the light of my life and I look to him to remain motivated! I look to him and acknowledge him for every good thing in my life! Despite the physical and mental setbacks, and daily challenges to stay motivated. I count my many blessings. I remind myself that there are many who have difficulties that make mine look like walk in the park on a sunny afternoon! So the solution to staying motivated is to take the focus off of oneself, off of the temporary and focus on a greater power that directs my steps in life. God blessed me with the abilities of self-expression in the written word and I give him the glory for every breath I take. He is my Lord and savior, in Jesus' name, Amen!

4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered."
